yo! my new 17 powerbook comes in tomorrow... should i use the Setup Assistant to transfer my data and apps from my iBook or would you guys recommend reinstalling my apps on the new machine and manually transferring folders and files? i've never used the Setup Assistant and was wondering if anyone has had a bad experience. (i know i would never attempt something like this with a windows magine :D )

    new machine:
    1.5ghz 17" powerbook 80 gig

    old machine:
    1.25ghz 14" ibook 60gig

    thanx guys & gals!

I always see it as cleaner to install everything manually again. But that's just me and I don't actually have anything to back that up with.

Congrats on the purchase BTW. :D

coming from a windows upbringing, that seems the most logical way to do it. i think that what im gonna do... an extra hour or so installing and configuring apps for the peace of mind of a clean load is probably worth it!

    thanx! im hella stoked!!! :D
