I'm having trouble installing vmware tools for the fusion beta in 64 bit ubuntu on my macbook pro. I really need it installed so the mouse movements will be smoother.

thanks

I don't know if this will be useful or not... but I installed XP tonight, and Windows wouldn't extract the drivers from the Boot Camp disk, or install the VM tools. I made a new VM, reinstalled Windows, deleted the old one... and everything has worked great so far. Maybe a reinstall would help...?

no it has nothing to do with reinstalling, i just don't know how to install tar.gz stuff in linux in the terminal. I looked up everything i could and it didn't help. The .rpm file mounts itself but i don't know how to get things to install in terminal.
