    Meh

Looks like it only records at 320 x 240 and at the end of the day it's an analogue conversion.

For 200 bucks ... no thanks.

If all you're planning to do is watch this stuff on the iPod screen, then that's plenty good. Not going to cut it for external presentation though. Shame they didn't go all the way and support the 640x480 formats.

Don't forget that they got cought off-guard since Apple announced the new iPod 5.5th gen, along with a firmware update for the iPod 5th gen, with 640x480 H.264 capabilities (used to be 640x480 for MPEG-4, 320x200 for H.264) just a few weeks ago.

Also, 320x240 holds up pretty well next to VHS, which is still what most people use for casual recording/time-shifting.

I believe VHS is equivalent to something like 200x480. No real pixels, but horizontal detail is supposed to be similar to 200 IIRC. So, in theory, a bit more detail than 320x240 gives you, but biased to vertical instead of having nice square resolution. Plus VHS has all the other glitches and dropouts and smearing.
