Two of my PB keys "popped out", and I don't know what to do

I was giving my PB the once-a-month iKlear treatment, and while scrubbing/washing the PB keyboard with the iKlear cloth, I scrubbed a bit too hard, and two of the keyboard keys twisted from their joints and popped out (Q and W).

Fortunately, I've been using a BT keyboard/mouse with iCurve, so I don't have any problems typing... yet. I've spent about an hour trying to somehow "click" the two keys back onto the keyboard, but no such luck yet. I even tried gluing the keys back on, but that doesn't seem to be working (very wobbly).

Anyone have this problem before? I'm planning on gettting rid of this PB after graduation this summer, but I want to get the problem resolved in case I have to use the keyboard in the time being. Can Genius Bar at the Apple Store take care of it quickly, or will this involve more "intensive operation", meaning I'll have to send it into Apple for repair? :(

Thanks for any advice and suggestions! (today has NOT been a good day for me: first I break my PB's keyboard, and now the Chargers lost  )

Definitely don't glue them...that'll likely result in more problems.

There should be four small brackets on the back of the key and four little pins sticking out from the plastic frame around the rubber key mechanism. You need to make sure they're all lined up correctly and then push down to snap the key back on. You can push fairly hard, but if you're worried about breaking things, I'd imagine that a Genius can help you out in just a few seconds.

Freakin' Chargers! SD's wide receivers were all experiencing "butterfinger" syndrom during today's game. And what the hell was Schottenheimer challenging after the interception and then fumble? Oh well, so much for the best season record in the NFL.

Anyways, the geniuses can fix the keys. One time when I had this issue, they took my old notebook to the back and came back 5 minutes later with the keys applied perfectly. I don't know if you are still under warranty (doubtful) so I can't say for sure if they will do the same for you. Your best bet is to take it to them and let them know the keys just "popped" off while you were typing. If they are nice, they will put them back on for you. I know I spent at least 2 hours one day trying to get the keys to go back on nicely, but it just wasn't happening.

Wow... I sounded like such an idiot. I just pushed really hard, and I got both keys go back home. I tested them out, and they're fine. Thanks for your help!

I just have to remind myself to be more careful when cleaning the keyboard!
