I think I am going to submit this as a bug, but I just wanted to confirm with other devs here. UIAlertView used to render the buttons vertically, if needed. Now, with 2.2, they are always rendered horizontally and this can lead to much of the label of these buttons being chopped in favor of ...s. For a demonstration of this new layout, build the UICatalog sample app. Go to the Alerts choice and then tap on the UIAlertView - Show Custom at the bottom. In 2.1, which I still have running on my iPod touch, the buttons render vertically, as shown in the first attached screenshot. In 2.2, these buttons are now rendered horizontally, as seen in the second screenshot. It's not hard to imagine running out of room for labels and extra buttons much quicker with this new layout. What's even weirder is that even if I target 2.0 or 2.1 for my build with the Simulator, it still renders in the new 2.2 fashion.
