High end 27" iMac with i7 processor and 3TB fusion drive. £2.179.99.

Damn that's an expensive computer, so much so I'm not adding the 680mx graphics card, I'll leave that to the gamers.

I can't spend a penny more than that, even that is more than I wanted to pay.

MetzoPaino: Nothing is guaranteed until the prices are on the website, but it's calculations rather than pure guesswork. I printed off the prices of the 2011 iMac and Mac mini before they disappeared which helps give a guideline. The UK prices of the 2012 Mac mini and its Fusion Drive are now known. The dollar prices are from Expercom and seem believable when compared with the 2011 iMac and 2012 Mac mini dollar prices.

The ones I'm least confident of are the 3TB upgrade, the 768GB SSD and the GTX 680M which are straight dollar conversions. The 3TB upgrade looks like it's coming in at the same price as the 2TB upgrade on the 2011 model. The prices of the 768GB SSD and GTX 680M are higher than I expected.

Sebie: the Mac mini starts with just 4GB, and the upgrade cost works out at £80 for each 4GB RAM (same as 2011 model prices). The iMac has 8GB as standard which is why the upgrade cost is £80 less.

Yes but isn't that an upgrade from 4GB, so an additional 12GB? iMac ships with 8GB so it's only another 8GB to upgrade to 16GB.

Sorry, my words "straight dollar conversion" are misleading. What I should call it is a "Apple dollar/pound conversion"

If I know that a $250 item such as the Fusion Drive ends up costing £200 in the UK (including VAT), then a $150 item such as the 3TB upgrade would likely be £120. I used similar calculations for the 768GB SSD and the GTX 680M upgrade.

• Total = £406
  
• + 21.5" iMac = £1505

Only did it for the 21.5" because that's the one I'm hoping to get.

I just removed 22% from the already guessed prices, but I'm pretty sure the percentage for the parts is lower, I think it may be 15% cheaper for each part.

The upgrade in USD for the 13" rMBP 128GB SDD to 768GB SDD is $1300.
In the UK Apple store that is £1050.

Same goes for the CPU upgrade: 13" rMBP 2.5GHz Core i5 to 2.9GHz Core i7 is $200.
In the UK it is £160.

Mac Mini Fusion upgrade is $250, UK upgrade is £200.

I agree it will be £180, do a HE discount on a Mac Mini and chose a Fusion it comes to £180.

So for me I want the Fusion, so have to get the top end 21.5" (would rather have base 21.5" - enough for me), so total with HE will be £1279, wow, DO NOT TELL THE MISSUS!!!

I had saved up months ago for an iMac with many of the options, so with the additional wait I have saved more so will go all out for the top of the range 27" with i7, 3Tb Fusion drive, and the 680MX GPU.

Already have 32GB of Crucial Ram sitting here ready to install. Also bought a 7 Port USB 3.0 hub and a USB 3.0 Memory Card reader. The new iMac location for the built in Memory card slot is just idiotic.

I work part time in a school so will get an additional saving on my new iMac.

Will be nice to have a fast new iMac and to be able to turn my heating back on and to actually buy food LOL

I would say just take a good look at the mac mini pricing in the us and then the uk and that should give you a good scale.

Crucial know the specs of the RAM for the 2012 iMacs and they guarantee it will be the correct type. Crucial lists the 2012 iMacs and you choose the RAM configuration you want. I already have the Ram siting here ready to fit.
