Hi - I'm unable to create personal hotspot from my iPhone 4. I'm trying to connect my Nexus 7 to it.

I'm on iOS 6.0. I tried this on my wife's iPhone and it works perfectly. I've tried three inbuilt app plus a couple of others.

    Any suggestions, please?

Does your phone plan allow tethering?

Believe so. My wife and I have virtually the same plan.

The message I get is 'Obtaining IP address' and gets disconnected.

Sometimes when I turn it on it can take like 10 minutes before it's detectable by my laptop for some reason. Try waiting a bit maybe? and reset wifi on the nexus

Actually, Nexus does detect it but does not connect.

Double check your phone plan. It has to allow for it. Otherwise nothing you try will work.

    Try a reset network settings.
