How would one go about doing a full uninstall of a Mac program? I need to completely get rid of Final Cut Pro 5 and install FCP 4.

What about all the preferences and other files associated with the application? If I just drag FCP5 to the trash the system will let me install FCP4 over it?

Preferences would be under ~/Library/Preferences in a file that is named com.apple.______.plist

Do a Spotlight search for FCP to find all of the files associated with the application as well, and delete those. Overall, though, Mac applications don't tend to spread out files all over the place the way applications do in Windows.

Is it possible to uninstall FCP5 but keep DVDSP4, Sountrack Pro, and LiveType 2, and then install FCP4 and have them work together?
