When I try to update my Mac Mini, running Tiger, it get about 1/10 through looking for updates and just stays like that forever. I tried for the past 2 days and same thing

If you have a friend with a Tiger disk, ask to borrow it, it might be bad media. Also, if you have installed third party RAM, put back in the Apple RAM and try again with the same media.

Sounds weird. Mine's working fine. Have you got some sort of firewall or something?

Well, I'm more than ready to be slammed if I'm wrong but I think a firewall can either be a physical box (near your modem) or software (you'd know if you'd installed it). I'm guessing you don't have one though, which is kind of good because it simplifies things.

However, we're back to where we started. Did you do an upgrade to Tiger or a clean erase/install? It might be worthwhile doing the latter, although it means backing up everything which can be a pain. Also, what other software have you installed? Are you running an antivirus program?

What happens when you try to execute software update via the terminal? (sudo softwareupdate -i -a)
