Is MacRumors ever going to get an updated overall look? The current one seems so old- it looks like it's from 2000.*

well, I'm personally hoping MR adopts Josh's design as the standard template, but the current look is nice and clean. i hate forums with to much going on in the background.

I just wish they would fix the stupid white box underneath the last post and before the 'post reply' button- gets annoying after awhile.

An ad belongs there, your browser must block them..

It's probably the contributor status that has removed the ad rather than the browser. Just one more reason to join the fun...

    ...Apparently.

We could change the site name to MacRoomorz. :)

Seriously, we don't want to add clutter, but a change in graphics or subtle changes to shading, colors, spacing could give the site a fresh face. Suggestions are welcome, although its very hard to get consensus on such things.

Personal note: Every time my favorite magazine or newspaper changes their style/spacing/font, I think it's awful, for an issue or two, then get used to it and eventually think it's better. Then I do the same thing when they change it again!

The latest "standard vBulletin look" has member names, titles, avatars, Locations, etc. above each post rather than on the left. I wonder what kind of reaction there would be to changing from our current "vertical" look to that "horizontal" look.

^People will think it sucks and two days later everyone will like it....its like an apple product....people will frown but eventually they will come around.

I like the forum the way it is....

    Bless

The horizontal look is far too disruptive. Never change this site. Change is the work of the Devil.

I'm actually open to improving the forum design.

I've been staring at it today, wishing it would be more easily readable in many ways.

I also hate the icons... which are the standard ones. Redesigning a full icon-set is a big task though.

Maybe make an open contest then. I can't speak for myself (I suck) but there are some pretty talented people registered here. :)

I'm not even talking about the forum. It's mostly the top navbar and main pages outside of the forum that could get updating. It'd be great if there were a contest for it.

I just joined a few days ago, but I've been lurking here for months and though I do like the forum design, has anyone considered an Aqua-ish styled theme for MacRumors? Maybe in different colours, rather than Aqua Blue, because its a Rumour site... of course, then it would be like the AquaSoft forums...

Personally I still don't like it, each to their own.
