OK, so there's a new game coming out in November called Uru: Ages Beyond MYST, its offline/online multiplayer in realtime and has awesome graphics, but its only going to be available for PC... i've emailed the developers and they said that they too prefer macs (they all have powerbooks) but they simply can't get support from Ubisoft and the funding for it....

so some of us started a petition, which is going pretty well, we have alot of international supporters, and i was hoping that ya'll coulc come and sign it too. Even if you don't plan to purchase the game, it would mean alot to everybody else.

A trailer for the game is here:

    Here's the petition:

Here's a post in the uru forum discussing it:

    Here's the official website:

and here's a very good fansite with everything you would want to know about it:

    Please help out...

Tell the developers that if they code in OpenGL then they get linux and mac almost for free. If they have a business case to take to the parent company, they get to code for many platforms AND look like a golden child to their company because they opened up two good sized new markets for a very negligible cost. Open, cross-platform standards: The right thing to do, and a mighty tasty way to do it. ©

How does openGL compare to directX as far as ease of programming and power?

    Consider the petition signed :)

Hopefully I won't need to boot into OS 9 like I have to with Riven :D

I just looked at their site, and I see that you can sign up for the beta test. When signing up, it asks for your OS, and one of the choices is OS X. Maybe we should all sign up and hopefully increase the percentage of Mac users, so that they realise there's a lot of us.

Yeah its strange how they have mac information you can put on their since they can't beta test it yet... that was the reason that ubisoft first said that a mac version wasn't planned, cause so many mac users were signing....

just out of interest, do you know of any other 'please develop a Mac version of <name here> as well' petitions that have had the desired results?
