Ah, those darned French and Russians weaseled out of this one, didn't they!

The article was written by Julian Borger and he tends to be a bit over the top when it comes to bushco, nonetheless, the report by the Senate committee makes it clear that nothing was done to prevent these sales. I'm sure the imminent release of this report is the cause for the evidently baseless claims against Mr Galloway, an English MP who is appearing in DC this week to face the wrath of Congress.

It's my understanding that Mr. Galloway is coming not so much to face the wrath of Congress as to 'let them have it with both barrels'. We'll see how much of each is doled out.

    so it follows that:
    1. the arms/munitions now used against US soldiers in iraq were at least partly paid for by US oil money
    2. any alleged WMD activity was at least partly paid for by US oil money

if the electorate is paying attention at all, the administration should fry for that.

Things really need to change in the government, I would like to able to be proud of what the government does again. Or at least have it be more good than bad.

I can think of little good that has been done lately.

That's not an indictment for getting rid of government either, otherwise there would be no way of stopping the people who are using government right now.

I thought we were losing American soldiers in Iraq so as to free those poor people from their terrible dictator.

You mean to tell me we're not there for humanitarian reasons? That we're killing and being killed for nothing more than shallow, selfish reasons?!

You've completely destroyed my gleeful, optimistic, America-as-benevolent-monsterpower view of the world!

He is, but his constituency is Bethnal Green & Bow, very much English.

Probably best to call it British. :)
