Another sign the insurgency is 'in it's last throes'?
i can't help thinking that this is the "mother of all wars" saddam promised in the gulf war. but not quite how most americans imagined it.
So much for a troop drawdown this summer. Will we see one this fall?
i suspect that (something like) 20,000 troops will be recalled. it will be headline news. but very quietly, 18,500 will replace them.
net drawdown: 20,000
They got a Civil war going on there folks and George Bush's policy is fueling this, how many Iraqi's did he bomb? How many " Insurgents" did he create. Iraq was a mistake just as Vietnam was a mistake only it took over a decade for the American people to figure it out, it aint worth it. Give it back to Saddam with a note we will be back if needed. Follow Libya's example.
Its about to start as we near the elections, Bush & Draft Dodgers will be selling fear. Hand over fist. Dont be surprised we get some more stupid alerts with nothing to tell us
the bad math was intentional. the administration will trumpet the gross drawdown number, but ignore the net.
I'm glad to hear it. The 'net' had me confused.
It's simple. We'll send more in now for "reinforcements", then bring a whole bunch of troops back right before the elections, than almost as many back out because things will suddenly (surprise) be going to Hell. Even more so. When anyone tries to say we need to bring them all back home, they simply remind us how bad things got when we tried.
I was kidding, but after reading it again, now I'm not so sure.
I have no words for this. This "war" has become just a farce.
last throes indeed
Farces don't usually have such a high body count.
