    Hi Guys,
I'm just about to buy an external harddrive for my 1.5 GHz powerbook G4 512 MB DDR SDRAM. At first I wasn't sure wether to get a firewire 800 or a USB2. hdd. I realise that FW800 would be faster, but I've found a nice compact USB2 version.
I checked in the system details on my computer and it says USB High-Speed Bus up to 480 Mb/sec, Please can someone tell me if my powerbook has USB2?

    thanks loads, BEET

it does have usb2, but....i wouldnt suggest it. USB has a much slower constant data transfer rate over firewire

Try to find one that is USB2 and firewire. And yes 480Mb is USB2.

avoid usb like the plage with large storage stuff like optical and HD drives.

get a firewire 400 one there cheap and faster than usb 2.
