I just got a new usb flash drive and I was about to reformat it (I don't want all the crap that comes preinstalled on it) and I was wondering what format works best for all around use? I was gonna go with Mac OS Extended (journaled?) but wasn't sure if there would be a problem with windows machines.

Use FAT32 if you want it to work on Windows and OS X.

    FAT32 for PC compatibility, unfortunately.
