Hi Guys,

two quick questions about USB storage support:

1) Can i use an external USB drive as storage in ATV Take2 ? The following link (http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Enable_USB_Storage) shows how to do that for Take1, but I have not found a solution for Take2 (even a simple no/not yet helps). Any links ?

2) Has the ATV enough power for an external USB 2.5 drive which can be used e.g. on a notebook without additional/external power supply ?

Kind Regards,

Christian

I hacked mine using ATV Flash http://www.applecorellc.com/product_info.php?products_id=27. When I did, it allowed me to hook up my USB drive and read from it. Only thing I didn't like was that the interfaces aren't as nice as Apple's but, hey, it works!

As for the power question, mine is able to power my 160 drive with no additional power source. (I use it for my MBA also without needing to power it.) But mostly I have a 500GB attached that is powered.

Sounds good, but I want to use the external drive as native iTunes/ATV disk as described in http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Enable_USB_Storage#Move_iTunes_media_to_USB_Drive .
