I have a question. I know how I can use my iMac as a tv. I'm thinking about getting rid of my tv and replace it with the imac. I want to be able to sit on my couch and watch tv on it, but also use it while sitting behind my desk. When it is placed on the desk it is to high to watch tv on it in a relaxed way. Does anybody has a setup with a swivel arm? Or are there any other ideas. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Don't know if I can help. But I do know that the G5 Rev A iMacs supported VESA wall-mounting etc. (which would have solved your problem). However for Rev B onwards, Apple withdrew support for this, and it isn't recommended (if it is even posible). I'm guessing this is still true for the Intel iMacs.

Maybe somebody knows of guerilla ways to change the mounting of the iMac - though it wouldn't be guaranteed to be safe.

I'm 99.9% sure that Rev. Bs DO allow wall-mounting, Rev Cs and Intel iMacs don't.

Yes the revision B iMacs do allow wall-mounting - you can see mine here. You just need an iMac G5 VESA mount adapter and a VESA-100 compatible wall mount. The G5 iSight model and the Intel iMacs don't support the wall mount because of the curve in the back panel.

As for the TV itself, check out the Elgato EyeTV hardware. I have the 410 connected to my iMac. I don't use this as my main tv but I do schedule recordings with it and it's an excellent piece of kit :)
