Just wanted to bring this to a top level thread. As noted in this post:

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=2056074&postcount=123 Thanks Applespider!!! ;)

iWeb templates initially use Latin as a filler text rather than your native language (supposedly English in my case). According to the Apple discussions board, many people are confusing it with French. I originally called Applecare tonight they they were clueless.

I wanted to post this to save people from attempting to reinstall iLife to fix this problem. Apparently, it's a common thing in publishing to get users looking at style and layout rather than the text on the page.

People thought all that gibberish was an error? It's just to give you an idea of the layout.

Interesting, thanks for the info DavidLeblond. That explains why my friend (Latin scholar) had so much trouble trying to translate it.
