using AEBS & TM - where are my backups now

Yesterday I hooked up my external backup drive to Airport Extreme

I needed to find the drive again
It did one complete backup (took all day)

Now when searching the drive I can see my previous backup folders
there before I started using Airport extreme
(however their aliases are broken)

But I cannot see any of the current backups
I have no idea where they are now being stored
They're somewhere because I can see the hourly backups entering TM

1. I'd like to know where they are
2. I'd like to safely delete some of the older backups

Now they're all stored in a single 'sparse bundle'
(whick I am unable to mount)

instead of individual folders
