Using "F" Keys

Hi,
I wonder how to use the "F" Keys in applications. I've disabled EXPOSE, but F1 to F5 is for luminosity and sound. I've tried differents combinations but I've haven't found. Someone know about this?

Try using the Fn key in conjunction with the F keys.

Also, in preferences, you can swap it so that the volume and display controls require the Fn key instead.
