    Hi-

This might be a stupid question but I couldn't figure it out. I wanted to use my mbp as a TV for my wii (component connection). Is there a way to get the DVI port to work as an input? Or do I need to find some way to use the firewire connection? I don't want to actually watch TV channels, just hook up video in.

    Thanks in advance.

not your dvi port, but you should look into eyetv. it is a box that will convert the video signal to usb for your mac.

The only real option I could think of is to use tv like solutions.

You need to make sure whatever you get has a "game mode" or else you will get too much lag on the video to play it. There is a version of the eyeTV with this capability.

It wouldn't be viable unless you want to lose all the time :)

The EyeTV box takes a wii bit of time to encode the incoming signals as well as sending that to your Mac. That wii bit of time will result in some super laggy gameplay.
