UT 2004

    Is it possible to play the mac version of UT2004 with windows computers? My friend has the windows UT2004 and I want to play him on a LAN or internet. Thanks

    Yes. UT2004 can be played online regardless of the host OS.
    Just this past week, I was at a friend's house with my iBook and played against their XP machines.

    Yep, sure is. Would really suck if you couldn't.

    cool! one more reason to buy my powerbook sooner.

    I'm confused. I see this question all the time, for almost every game. Is it really a problem? I've never experienced it, and I've never even heard of someone with a problem. What games don't allow internet play between Macs and Windows machines?

    C&C Generals doesn't support Mac + PC networking

    Glenda Adams, then of WestLake, said that EverQuest doesn't support PC to Mac networking mainly because the PC players have more than 2 years experience over the Mac users.

    C&C Generals and Rainbow Six 3 are two big name recent games that can't do mac <-> pc games.

    The entire Age series ( Age of empires/II and Age of Mythology) don't support cross platform gaming because they use direct play for networking I believe

    wow, i had no idea so many games had that problem. thanks for the info everyone (sorry for hijacking the thread too :p )
