It sounds as if someone did some planning after disecting the 2003 ports.

    That's great news!

    Now, please define "approximately". ;)

I don't see why it will need a G5--it's an updated version of 2k3, not a new engine. The lower detail settings should remain as is--with (I assume) some new effects added.

This seems to mainly add new game modes and vehicles and maps--like an add-on pack in a way. (Which doesn't mean that you need 2k3 to run it.)

In fact, there is a rebate for UT2k3 owners--which is fair.

It sports a new version of the unreal warfare engine with a lot more detailed physics. The poly count looks like it was bumped up a lot, and there are more shaders.

If you play it at low res and detail, yeah it will work OK. But UT2k3 already pushes machines pretty hard, so I think its fair to expect 2k4 will run slower than 2k3.

I guess we'll have to wait and see the min requirements.

i had read that this version of ut will be more optimized for osX then ut2k3 and therefore will have about the same requirements. anyways ut2k3 is a blast but you really need at least a 1 gig and good video card.

I agree, I have a dual 800 and a good video card and I find the game unplayable at 10*7.
