Is this still ongoing? All they say my 6 is worth is $220.
Yes.

Wait for your iPhone 7 to be activated on your account for 5 days, then go to the device recycling page. You should see the $650. If not, call 1-800-457-0864. That's the number for the Device Trade-In Dept. they'll get you sorted.

Sorry, if this has been covered but I can't easily search on mobile. Can you do this promotion and still keep unlimited data?

I did device payment plan on my 6S+ and was able to keep my UDP and Unlimited Hotspot late last year so I'd assume same applies now. So I'd leerily say the answer is yes.

That is the rebate processing center, not the trade in. Trade in is 1.800.416.8894

Thanks, but the website won't let me do it anyway. I used the Best Buy loophole last year to get subsidized pricing and keep UDP so now it will only let me do full retail price until I'm eligible for another "upgrade."

Correct. The only UDPers who can do a phone on DPP and keep UDP are those who are off contract and paying $49.99/mo for their UDP.

Thanks, I see it advertised online (including their own website) but when I do a quote it only tells me $220 which is confusing, I appreciate the extra info.

----

So here is my breakdown...

Apple.com 2-year contract $299 phone -$200 trade in iPhone 6 (unfortunately I missed the $225) = $99, no upgrade fee, taxes based on difference (please correct me if wrong) my tax rate close enough to 10%, $110 total cost (if taxes based on initial cost $130 total cost).

Verizon.com $749 phone on installment plan (pseudo-contract) - $650 trade in iPhone 6 = $99, $20 upgrade fee, taxes based on entire $749 purchase price (please correct me if wrong), $194 total cost.

Am I missing the benefit of this program? Why does Apple.com offer me a 2-year contract price at $299 and Verizon only offers pay full price or pay installments? Is it because of my plan? Why does this have to be so confusing?

Thanks for the help!

So I canceled my pre order for my 32gb Plus Back ship date Oct 5. I instead reserved one at an Apple store, just picked it up a few mins ago. I then went to a CORPORATE Verizon store and traded in my old Iphone 6 for the $650 Promo. So it works.

Im official done and damn phone looks great!

You have to have the device in your cart to see the promotional TIV. If you order online and submit the trade in online, then you have to trade in by mail.

So the iP7+ was financed through Verizon DPP but purchased in Apple store? Then you did the trade in of the iP6 at the corporate store?

I went to apple and made sure it was monthly Verizon payments for IPHONE7 plus (DPP?). After I went across the street at a Verizon corporate store and gave them my old phone. He gave me a receipt and promo was applied.

Thank you for your feedback!! Did you purchase on the monthly payment program? Did you have to pay tax? (Note that if I choose to order online, my tax is charged to me monthly)

Yes I did the Verizon monthly payment program and yes I had to pay tax. Apple rep said upgrade fee would be next bill cycle.

I'm gonna try this if my model (32GB 7+ Black) is in stock at my local  Store before 9/28 or so.

Did you get weird looks and/or vibes from the Verizon guys, or was it pretty straight-forward?

Nope, I came in and was out in like 10 mins. He just told me if the Apple Store had lots in stock and that was it. Easy trade in.

So I just went on apple.com and reserved a black 7+/128 to be picked up tomorrow but it was only offered on the iPhone upgrade program. After reading some responses it looks like I can switch it to the Verizon device payment plan when I go to the store which I intend to do.

I was totally fine keeping my 6+, still works fine but this deal seemed too good to pass up since I generally keep my phone for at least 2 years.

So like many other Verizon users I have the option to upgrade from my iPhone 6 to 7 and if I can receive $649 trade-in value on my iPhone 6 if I order before Sep 30th (in the form of a monthly credit that starts 2-3 months after I upgrade- offsetting the monthly lease charge for the phone).

I'm very happy with Verizon and have no intention of changing providers, moving, etc. So this seems like a really good deal to me but I'm trying to figure out how Verizon is winning on this deal.

Based on my situation what am I missing?

Also, for what it is worth, my iPhone 6 still has 1 year left of Applecare+ remaining.

Verizon will give you contract pricing the same as Apple if you're on one of their older plans but they don't make it easy. They are trying to push people towards DPP. The benefit of that is you can upgrade every year. If you have no intention of upgrading your phone in a year, then it's really just a preference of what you want to do.

Does anyone know if I can change payment plan at pickup in the Apple Store?

I can reserve my phone right now, but it says it will do Citizens One credit. I need it to be a regular Verizon payment plan for the $650 credit to work. I am unable to change the Citizens One thing during the online checkout process.

Multiple people have said you can change it when you get to the store. You aren't actually buying anything by reserving so if they don't let you, you can just walk out. But yes, you do have to have the Verizon DPP for the $650 credit to work. Please let us know how it works for you.

I reserved online yesterday and the Apple specialist at Northlake Mall was able to sell me the phone using the Verizon DPP without a problem. It was pretty awesome. Now I just need to wipe my iPhone 6 and take it to a Verizon corporate store. After dealing with Apple's awesome customer service I'm dreading dealing with Verizon.

This is great news. Had been waiting to switch from AT&T to Verizon so we were held up for pre-ordering with the $650 til TODAY! So just now reserved for in-store pickup this afternoon and excited. One question though I reserved sprint instead cause it was available. They should let me activate that on Verizon correct? same bands.

Hmmm so reserving and doing the DPP in the Apple Store, but trading in at the Verizon Corporate Store works?

For those that traded in, what kind of receipt was given?
