Video Battery Life

    I was wondering what would consume less battery:
    Watching a DVD from the disc or ripping it to the HDD and watching it from there. Thanks.

    I would think accessing the HD uses less power than operating an optical drive. I'm not really sure though.

    I remember reading somewhere that the HDD goes to sleep when watching a DVD to conserve battery so I'm not sure.

    so it loads the entire movie onto the ram?
