Can anyone list osx complient emulators of popular video game systems (ie: Nintendo 64, Playstation, Super NES...) that they have installed and work well?

    If so, please link.

    Yes, Google can

IIRC, talking about roms on this forum may get you banned, as it is considered, in some countries, illegal.

What about Apple ][e disk images? :D

Appreciate the warning, but there are trillions of legal roms out there. Ok maybe not trillions...

...also, I'm aware that google is up and running. But I am interested in specific emulators that have been installed and pass the test. Sure, I could search google, and install every emulator for every system until I have narrowed things down, but that could take hours and way too much effort. Isnt the point of this thread to assist each other so that we dont have to use google?

Maybe it's time to sticky an emulation thread.

As above, the sites mentioned. For an overview of what's happening in emulation world (all platforms), go for http://www.zophar.net/.

    Free legal ROMs? http://www.pdroms.de/.

Native emuators written by Richard Bannister: http://bannister.org/.

That's basically all you need. There are some good repositories for copyrighted ROMs out there, but you'll have to find those yourself.

PCS-X emulates PS1 games. I use it to play Gran Turismo. Sixty Force plays Mario 64 and Waverace 64 great, and Mupen plays a few other N64 games that sixtyforce won't emulator, though mupen overall isn't as good. Visual Boy Advance emulator plays all gameboy and gameboy advance games perfectly, Genesis Plus plays almost every Sega genesis game, Macmame everyone knows.

It usually takes at least a fast G4 or g5 to play N64 games well, but most g3 macs will do the older console games and macmame.
