Well both versions are released this week.

Seeming the main difference between the two boil down to

    360) online play
    ps3) six axis support

Other than that both are pretty much identical. Graphically you'd be hard pushed to know which was which, both are running at upto 1080p, but I can testify that even in 720p the 360 version looks very sharp.

There is a demo available for 360 users on Live Marketplace now.

They have certainly made the game harder and more simulation like. In fact its more like topspin than the older VT's.

Shame the 'star' player all look like lifeless zombies though.

Haven't decided which version to pick up, but it'll probably boil down to cost more than anything else.

The six axis support is really supposed to suck. You like wave it up and down to do a top spin, and side side, front forth something something.

If you want to play a tennis game with motion controls, just wait for a better one on the wii.

So i say the 360, cuz of online play, and it the same game.

Live gave it 5/5, saying that the graphics "look real", they demonstrated this by posting a screenshot of one of the pro female players in all her jagged glory.

I'd definitely go with the Xbox 360 version. Nowadays, I'll play the offline version of a game for about 10 hours or so, and end up playing the online version for a whole lot more than that. Until Sony gets their online act together, I'd stick with the 360 for any non-exclusive games.

Hmmm...ability to shake a controller (sort of) or play against people in an online ranked system...

I'm going for the 360 version... I like the feedback when I hit the ball in those sort of games...

Yes, 360 has rumble, but it also has 1080p, as does PS3's.

I'd go Xbox 360 for online

Yeah it looks like 360 online is the swinger. I'll go for that version I think.

    No it isn't. 1080p isn't TrueHD. TrueHD is dual 1080p at 60fps :p

At least this is what I was told by Sony

edit: in all seriousness, is there actually no difference in the quality of image output by both systems? I thought 360 upscaled to 1080p, as if it's an important deciding factor or whatever.

Personally I'd go for online play above anything else. I think not including online play in the PS3 version is just stupid.

Well it came down to price for me.

I ended up getting a USA copy of VT3 for the PS3 for $43.50 or €33

Here the RRP is €64.99 ($86) for the Xbox 360 version and
    and €74.99 ($99) for the PS3

So all in all I saved myself at least 50% Not bad.
