some games i am running quit because they do not recognise the mac's graphics card, or because they are looking for a pc graphics card- mostly online games. what is the best way to get round this?

The video subsystem of Virtual PC is, I think, like an S3 ViRGE...not a 3D card. It doesn't use the Mac's graphics card in any sort of native fashion.

VirtualPC is great for things like the original Diablo or Worms World Party, but it's not going to run 3D, and if it could, current CPU emulation would be awfully darn slow, even on a dual 2.7G5 or hte new Quads

Buying a PC, because, as noted above, the video card emulated in VPC is a non-3D video card. There's no way around this.
