Should I get this for my new g4 powerbook?? I really want to play online poker at UltimateBet.com but it says that mac users must have this installed. I have heard from others that it runs horribly so I just wanted some other opinions before I go out and purchase it.

    Thanks

It should be ok for online poker. Doesn't need that much performance to run those clients.

I am running VPC on a G4 iBook and a G5 iMac, both with plenty of memory. While it works fine the speed just doesn't make the grade. I have ended up buying a PC and networking the lot through an airport extreme and now only use VPC on the iBook when roaming.

IMHO vpc is painfully slow, yes you may be able to play online poker
but it will not come without its headaches. If you really need to play
poker, then have a pc aside...it will make life easier.
