With all the talk of Windows Vista being bootable on Intel-Based macs, I was wondering if any of the beta testers have tried. I am saving to buy a MacBook Pro but need to know everything. As a user of Windows for games I would like to have an option on start up to select which OS to launch. So first of all, does Vista work without any problems and what hardware is compatible? (iSight etc.) I will be using Mac OSX for editing and Windows for most of my games. So does it work?

Oh, and sorry if this is already been posted, this is my first post on the board.

Well the latest Beta of Vista was launched yesterday. Build 5308. I hope someone trys it on the new Intel Macs to see if the EFI support has been implemented.

I know I want to buy a mac so badly but also want some form of Windows, even if I have to wait for a native version of Vitual PC.

I know, I am desperate to buy a Mac laptop to replace my Dell desktop and my 3 year old T40. I know OSX is a better OS but I need to be flexible and have access to the platform that 95% of the planet still uses. I am even willing to spend extra on the hardware.

As far as I am concerned Apple would have more customers if it was easier for people to dual boot on their systems. After all they make most of their money on Hardware what difference does it make to them if people dual boot or not.

For games like Half-Life and Counter-Strike you need windows and valve won't port them so having windows on a mac is almost a nesessity.

apple doesn't care if people have more than one os on their macs...but it's not up to apple whether or not vista will be bootable on the macs...it's up to microsoft. but it's also good for microsoft to be able to boot on macs, so they will most likely make it somewhat easy to boot on both macs and pcs...

Well, good luck in that endeavor. It's something many of us aspire to but, regretably, can never achieve. ;)
