I am never amazed that people believe this type of thing - just saddened.

Perhaps a better skillet that browns more evenly when making grilled cheese sandwiches.

Edit: I thought I saw bids as high as $69,000 the other day. Did I miss something, or were those withdrawn?

The highest I personally saw was $69,000, but they apparently were withdrawn or failed to qualify.

They claim they are gonna use it for charity !?!?

and btw how they can be sure it's a picture of Mary. It could be anyone... in fact, with that square face she looks more like Anna Nicole Smith before she lost weight. Besides it seems she's puking and I don't remember reading anything about the virgin puking. But perhaps it's just ectoplasma... what do I know...

    Incredibly Cheesy Chimps!
Maybe they should come out with the George Foreman Grill - Virgin Mary Edition. Then you could burn her impression into any sandwich or meat. Now that's good eatin'!

Check this thread for all of the other crazy things being auctioned in conjuction with this grilled cheese, including the George Foreman edition.

Hey, I came up with the grill idea in the first thread! :)

I saw the $69,000 bid too. As a matter of fact, the first time I looked at the auction the bid was $3,100,000, I sh*t you not. Did anybody else see that? After that it went to $69k. I thought you had to be approved BEFORE you could place a bid, but it seems like a bunch of bids got pulled anyway.

This whole thing was ridiculous, and the woman is either a huge hypocrite or breathtakingly naive. Maybe she'll blow the $28k at the online casino that bought the sandwich!

But the real question is: How will this make my online gambling experience better?

So, the woman says the sandwich brought her look at the casinos, and then an online casino buys it. hehehe, it doesn't get any better than this, does it?

I wonder what happens now...Does the house get more lucky?

The virgin Mary seems to be a very popular lady. I just can't see that it's worth $28,000. Someone with that kind of money should spread the wealth around. :D

I'm sure that the George Foreman Grill VM edition would be very popular.

Did you try scooping it up - putting it an a little/big box wrapped in cotton wool to protect it?
