At the rate vniow's posting, King Cobra and Backtothemac should be knocked down a peg quite soon.

I owe it all to übergeek who started the longest Spam thread in MR history.[IMG]

Careful jef, I might just beat you for the top non-contributing poster![IMG]

the scariest thing is that you need almost 3k posts to get on the leader board - nutso!!!

There was a time when 2k was a big thing, I remember eyelikeart making it there well over a year ago....

Over 1400 posts in that thread.

I owe über one, too... I've gained over 100 posts as a result of that thread...

Nothing compared to vniow, though. ;)

Hah, on one of the linux boards I used to frequent, you would need over 25,000 posts to be the top poster.

How long has this board been around? Not very long I take it.

There is a long climb to #1, and I'm not exactly a sitting target, even though I've not been posting as much lately. :D

And I've not posted once to the über thread ;)

    www.linuxnewbie.org

I don't know if that URL still works, though. The name was changed to www.justlinux.com , and most of the members left because of some policy changes. I don't know if it's still active, but if it is, check for a users called "mdwatts". He has over 25,000 posts.

And, really, most of the boards I frequent have users with close to 10,000 posts. But, the boards have been around for a few years, too, which made me think this site is still pretty new.

if you search for the posts by him, you'll see lots of nerd speak... people ask something, he nerds it up.

search for the posts by vniow. see what you find (i'll give you a hint... it's a particular type of smiley)... ;)

    Damn.
I don't think it is possible to stop that from happening people.

BTW, I am totally anti-spam. It is just so bad, why waste my time about nothing.

And that thread that you all got like 100 posts from is so stupid, really if you want to talk to like 3 people go IM them or PM them... I don't think that is just...

    IMO.

as for useless posting...I've been known to add a few here & there... ;)

i know, I left it alone on purpose. No sense on spamming my way through the forums, I've avoided it (mostly) ;)

and as for 25,000 posts, given enough time anyone can do that. I've seen some boards that have had large numbers and they're the ones that have been around for many years. So its really not that much if its over a long period of time.
