Hi there,

I have an iMac (late 2009) running Yosemite, with 1.5 TB of internal storage, and connected to a DAS with 8 TB of storage. Everything is turned on 24/7.

I read briefly once about OwnCloud, and I thought it was a simple Dropbox-kind-of app, using my own local hardware instead of some 3rd-party servers. However, now that I've read a little bit more, I find that it's not a simple matter of copying an app to my Applications folder, sharing some files and done.

The thing is simple: I don't want to run Linux, nor buy any additional hardware. Still, I want to mount my own cloud so I can have all the contents of my hard drives accessible from anywhere.

What would you recommend me to do so? Could you give me a good starting point at least?

Thanks in advance!
