Religion has been a big business for centuries? They are just discovering new markets. Everyone wants to sell their religion.

It does seem vaguely psychotic. It's bad enough that Christmas has become a virtually mandatory observance for everybody, whether the holiday is meaningful to their faith or not. For those of us for whom it isn't meaningful (or believe, horror of horrors, that it's been over-commercialized), we obviously were in need of a band of Christmas enforcers, to make sure that we can never avoid hearing about it, everywhere we go.

    Insane? No.

Crafty -- on the part of the people perpetrating the myth of a "war on Christmas"? Yeah. They're crazy all right -- crazy like a fox.

Gullible -- surely, on the part of anyone who buys any of this junk. To paraphrase P.T. Barnum, there's a sucker born every Christmas.

This is worse than sheer commercialism. This is using the religious holy day to perpetrate a scam. And that's -- oh, what would Jesus have called it -- oh yeah, evil.

And to think, Christmas was supposed to be about inclusion.

I knew we could count on you. ;)

Seriously. Christmas is a religious holiday. It's only about "inclusion" to the extent that non-Christians have been trapped into participating.

Back when Christians were a minority. They were a lot nicer back then. Too bad we fed so many of them to the lions.

By we, I meant the Romans. Maybe I should have said they. Not being Italian myself.

BTW, anybody else find it odd that the biggest Christian Church in the world now is the Roman Catholic one? Doesn't that seem strange considering? And yet Jews have been vilified. But Jesus was a Jew. Killed by Romans.

    Makes you think...

The wildest ones are the Mormons. Something about repression I think. Some people don't like Mormons, but I think they just haven't met the right ones.

On a side note, I have horrible taste in women.
