was this ever determined to be fake?

    It doesn't even look half as good as the QuickSilver!

    I am pretty sure that is real. The picture looks real and I also recall MacOSX.org had a pic of a graphite quicksilver right before the expo. The pics are probaly still up. Just take off the handles and you have a great tower though.

    No way would apple release something so ugly. c'mon. This looks like a REALLY old picture too.

    take away the handles and add another slot for Zip and it wouldn't look half bad...

    i think another disc drive is more useful than a zip drive
