My friend's cat knocked over a glass onto her recently purchased early 2015 MacBook Pro 13", and it won't turn on. I don't use laptops a whole lot, so I let her borrow my old 2007 white MacBook, and ended up buying hers for $350. I figured if I can't fix it, I'll part it out on ebay or something, but I'd rather fix it if I can.
I read a few articles. I took it apart and cleaned everything really well. There were a lot of little drops of some sticky liquid inside. She said the glass had had ginger ale in it. I cleaned all that out and let all the parts dry. Still no go.
One article said to test the DC in board by itself, and that if it didn't light up the charger LED, it was toast. I made sure the charger worked, and then I plugged it into the DC in board, and no light. I wasn't sure if that one article would be enough to go off of though before dropping $60 for a part, so I wanted to see if anyone on here could concur. If it seems worth it I'll go for it, but I'm not gonna drop $600 for a logic board right now. I just don't use a laptop enough for it to be worth it.
Thanks!
