I just finished ripping my entire blu-ray collection and I thought I would give you some of my thoughts. The WDTV plays just about any video format I threw it at 1080p. I ripped all the videos to M2TS files with AnyDVD and ClownBD. http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=27401 http://www.makemkv.com/ If I had to do it over again I would use the makemv program. The WDTV box does not have an ethernet port, but there are hacked firmwares that enable USB ethernet adapters, etc. So for the price 89-129 depending on where you get it from, its not a bad little device. It is a little slow menu browsing and chapter skipping seems broken on the files I ripped (I probably did not check the option to do this). FF works up to 16x. Video quality seems to be on par with blu-ray. I am not an audiophile so I only tested 2.1 but it sounds good.
