Just got home from a night out with my phone dead so when I plugged it in for recharging I had this urgent-sounding message from me Ma saying to call home.

I did and she told me we got puppies!!!

Our old dog, a pure-bred Dachshund died a few years back and today my little sisters managed to get the parentals to crack.

Two puppies, mongrels I think, one mostly Jack Russell and the other a Jack Russell/Beagle cross. Much smaller than we're used to from before and I dare say far more energetic. I'm going to give my apartment a quick spruce up and head home tomorrow to meet them, get myself imprinted on them so they don't scatter everytime I visit.

So happy, I've really missed our old dog and it's going to be so much fun (especially since this time I've long moved out of home and my sisters are both leaving this year the brunt of the toilet training will fall into my parent's responsibility. I'll be able to just have a rumble with the dogs and hand them back when I come back down here.)

Pictures and stuff for you all soon.

Yay!!

take good care of the dogs Chundles,

feed them alot of Schmackos.

:)

Not too many, don't want them to get fat. Nothing worse than seeing a fat dog unless it's a pregnant bitch.

And they'll go wacko too

Ralphie is only just 8 weeks and Ollie 11 weeks. Ralphie is still quite wobbly on his long legs and gets a bit scared at times, Ollie's far more confidant and dominant. They're both tiny though, I can hold one in each hand.

Sooooo cute!!!

They are sooo cute, but I think we need a photo of them in your hand!

They're very very cute.

Are you doing requests now? Can we see a photo of your dogs playing poker?

To me, there's nothing like a Jack Russell Terrier holding 3 Aces to melt your heart.

They are so adorable! Awww I want a puppy!!! But not really. Then I have to take them out and let 'em exercise. And my family won't ever be able to go on vacations. And... etc. etc.

They're really cute Chundles! I love animals in their baby forms - so cute and cuddly, it's a shame they have to grow up.

Chundles, I always expected you to look older and more like Rob Sitch for some reason. :D

Congrats!

Man, those are cute dogs. I'm at work right now, or I'd go hug my Toy Fox Terrier.

Is that good or bad?

Might need to drop a few more kilos, then I'll look more like Mr. Phillippe - that photo is fairly flattering.

I thought the same thing. I'm not sure why but you look very familiar. A bit like Zac from Desperate Housewives maybe.

Adorable dogs, Chundles. Will they live permanently with your parents?

Yeah, they bought them to keep Mum company now that all three of we kids have moved out (I've been out for six years and my little sisters' - both 19yrs - have just left) and Dad's away flying a lot.

It's great, I can play with them and then hand them back when I have to come back down here. They're such funny little guys, wrestling, rumbling, running around exploring. I'm back up there this weekend so I'll get to have another play with them.

They're off to puppy school soon to get them socialised and trained - something we didn't do with our old dog and regretted it. He was a good dog, just not good round other dogs and didn't understand much beyond "Sit" "Stay" and "Come here." I wonder if, when they graduate, they'll no longer be puppies anymore?:D

No no, that's not it. He looks like a friend of mine from when I was 18-19, except Chundles is a bit chunkier. :p
