For travelling and stuff, i think it'd be very useful. It looks to be quite sturdy. A bit on the expensive side though.

need to email them to try and get a Powerbook version.

    Pig ugly...

Why cover the utterly excellent lines of the best looking laptop in the world with orange hide???

Looks pretty cool to me... would probably be quite a bit harder to stick on a pb though!

I would love to have one of those for the PB 17" - not in orange though. I love Vaja's product - their iPod cases kick. My guess is that the PB would overheat though.

Doesn't look all that bad. Click the "View Spot" link, it loads the video into a very familiar looking frame! :D

I emailed them and they said they'd pass my request onto the products department.

Heres hoping we'll see one sometime.

I think this case is just asking for over heating problems.

I think it's ugly too, I like the aluminum. Who says it's scratch proof? Leather scratches, what the hell doesn't? My watch crystal was supposed to be some strong stuff, but I have a few DEEP scratches in it.

oooooh, i love vaja cases. it looks pretty cool, but my little 12" rev. a powerbook would overheat like a polar bear in the desert. and, it's a bit pricey. oh well.

and are they annoying you? they must be other wise you wouldn't have said it. I hate the scratches on my powerbook. grr
I wanted to keep it in the best condition i could for as long as possible. It has to last a few years.
I still think its a nifty looking case .. ugly laptop it was designed for!
It'd be a brilliant on the go case like for around an airport; open up, work away, when its time to go close it and put it into a travel bag along with everything else. saves having to carry a separate bag for computer stuff.

I don't understand the need for a leather casing for a laptop. It reminds me of things like a briefcase case or laptops with faux wood-paneling. Why?

As for the design itself, it looks like Fischer Price was busy that day...

i think its ugly but when travling and putting my baby (15" pb) through the x-ray thing scares me because of the "great" people working their and how carefull they are with expensive things!!!! I would prob consider this if i traveled alot

    wow, nice!! :D

i would definitely have one of those if i had a VAIO, or any other PC laptop. i just can't stand how PC laptops dont' have parallel top and bottom sides, they've just got to make then all weird shapes. what's wrong with having two flush surfaces? that case would smooth things over. :)

but i'm pretty sure that wouldn't be suitable for some PC laptops... those things can get hot. although because most of them are plastic cased, and dont' rely on the case for heat disspation, a case like these wouldn't matter too much. but on a all metal notebook where the case is virtually a big heat-sink...

also a familiar image when you go to their main page. ;)

ah, just found what i was looking for. :)

now, i meant to say this yesterday - but even though the leather case would protect your PowerBook, it'll make it stand out like ... a real lot. :p i prefer to have my PowerBook disguised, stealthy - like a ninja! :D

How easily does the PowerBook get scratched? I've never used one for more than five minutes or so at the Apple Store. Are they like iPod bad, or are they pretty safe as long as you don't drop it?

They actually don't get scratched that easily. They're quite tough. Nowhere near as bad as the iPod. I've been a bit careless at times with mine :(
