I have ichat and AIM messanger and I have my AIM account.
My friend has a PC (XP) with the latest AIM messanger and AIM account.
I don't have a Webcam but my friend does.

The 'invite buddie to video chat' will not light up on his computer or mine.
When I click on prefrences, then Click on Video it says "this computer does not support video confrencing"
Why wont it let me see him ?
When I had a PC I could see him easy, what do I need to do ?

I guess support is still a bit messy at the moment,

If you had a camera on the Mac you could do a one-way video chat

    Have you got audio working?

That might be the only thing you could do

    :(

I want to do a one-way video chat but I want to see him, not have him see me. He has a webcam but I don't.
    The sound works.

    Need a G4

I think you may be out of luck. iChat requires a G4 processor to do video. You could try Yahoo Messenger instead, but it's about 10% as good.

Yahoo Messanger does work, Yay! :D

Before I go and by a webcam, is there a webcam that will
    work on an imac DV+ 450mhz ?

Well not a G4 processor but a 600mhz G3 or more according to the apple iChat site http://www.apple.com/ichat/
