    wow, who'd a'thunk that awarding no-bid contracts w/ little or no oversight to people in temporary position would result in anything untoward?

    "avoiding even the appearance of impropriety" was one of bush's campaign pledges, as i'm sure many of us recall.

    Add to that the thought of War Crimes.....

    Half of the cost could have paid for a Metro Rail extension in the DC area that would have saved our dependance on oil. But then Haliburton and others would not have benefited.

    Why has this story made barely a ripple in the media? Doesn't anybody care where $8.8 billion went?
