I'm not really sure if I should be posting this at all, but Wells Fargo are running an iBook sweepstake - 125 iBooks, new checking accounts are entered.

If this isn't suitable for macrumors, I'll delete all this text.

It's perfectly fine to let us know about this promo.

I know that opening too many credit card accounts can affect your credit record, so you shouldn't open and close such accounts without considering that. Is the same true for checking accounts, or can we switch banks for checking accounts whenever we like without raising eyebrows at the credit agencies?

IMHO don't think opening a new checking account would affect a person's credit. It's the amount of credit available and debt load that concerns the credit agency.

That iBook sweepstakes certainly would be appealing to someone needing a new checking account and wants an iBook.

I very happy with my current checking account, so I think that I will pass. Thank you for the link. As Doctor Q is more aware than the rest of us the odds of winning are against us.
