What data can the apps legally collect from users?

    I am not a developer but I thought this would be the appropriate forum for the question.
    Exactly what sorts of private data are the apps allowed to collect without telling users?

    I know that Adobe collects IP and Mac addresses.

    can someone point me to the Apple policy doc on this?

    It's probably a really bad idea to collect personally identifying data on users without telling them. If you need to do it then tell them and get them to agree to it.

    It's covered in the SDK agreement: you can can get a copy from developer.apple.com
