OK, I don't have a stash of drunken sailors as mpw would like you to believe (hehe :p:p... OR DO I?!)

But there's a Toyota commercial that shows ALL THE FLIPPING time in Houston, maybe All of texas? I dunno, but it's all "blablabla, buy a car" and in the background, they have a really dramatic rendition of "What do you do with a drunken sailor" playing in the background.. like by a full symphony, all ... musical and crap. It's weird.

Does anyone know WHY toyota would choose THIS song? You use sea chanteys to sell BOATS and ZZ top to sell Cars!!

Also, do we want sailors driving cars? They're used to driving boats!
And they'd be drunk, on top of that!

He'll sober up. And don't forget that he has something incredibly funny* tattooed in an incredibly funny place.

    * Not quite as funny as "Welcome to Jamaica, mon, have a nice day", but still funny.

for the sake of confusing people into conversations about it? "has toyota cracked up?" "are their CEOs using drugs?" or just general "WTF?" type of curiosities. :D

i haven't seen it but it sounds rather funny.

I'm glad to see that someone else noticed the song. I thought that since most people don't know much of the sea, they wouldn't know the song either. It's somewhat unusual to use to sell cars, though. They could use it to sell boats around here since most people are drunk while piloting their boats.

Haha, KT's tender age? Corrupting me? I go to school in the montrose area... (houston), I've had crazy guys dance ... suggestively (I DIDN'T ASK. I WAS HORRIFIED) at bus stops for me. (Thankfully, the light turned green and we sped off!!)

Man, I'm gonna have to call Toyota and ask "WTF IS wrong with ya!?!"

I would hope that someone would offer the drunken sailor a ride. Definitely needs a designated driver for safety sake. Don't want to loose any of our fine young sailors.

He probably needs to be locked up...

For those that remember the padlocked testicles thread, that is probably a good start to locking up the sailor.

Personally I don't want to be the civic minded citizen responsible for performing that little bit of civic duty.
