Gave my brother a 30 gig iPod video for his birthday on Sunday. He's a windows users (hope this will help change that) and he had a heck of geting a video to play on his iPod. When he played the video (downloaded from iTunes) all he would get was the audio. He played around with the settings and found that video setting was for TV output and in that mode the screen was blanked. After he changed the video setting to screen he was able to see the video portion.

I wasn't able to help him since I'm still using my 1st gen iPod.

Is that the way the iPod video works. Is the default setting set to TV when the iPod is shipped from the factory?

Best wishes for the Holidays to Mac Rumors Forum members. Wishing you all an Intell Mac in 2006!

Mine was set for the pod innitially. It is possible that the setting was from the factory or he could have been playing around and switched it himself. Either way all is okay:)
