Apple's rumored 4-inch iPhone is supposed to be debuting at an event set to be held on March 21, just under three weeks from today, but due to an unusual lack of part leaks, we still have no clear picture of exactly what the device will look like.

Rumors suggest the device, said to be called the "iPhone 5se or iPhone SE," will resemble the iPhone 5s while also incorporating the curved cover glass of the iPhone 6 and 6s, a marriage difficult to imagine because those are two very different design aesthetics.

With that in mind, we've commissioned designer Tomas Moyano to create a mockup that combines the curved front panel of the iPhone 6s with the boxier, thicker shape of the iPhone 5s, ending up with an attractive design possibility that satisfies all of the current rumors.

Last week, two conceptual design drawings of the 4-inch iPhone were shared by 9to5Mac and OnLeaks, each created based on information sourced from parties with knowledge of the 4-inch iPhone's design. Neither is a direct, ultra-detailed schematic like those we have seen in the past from case makers, and the design elements of the device in the two drawings do not match up.

Looks great. Should have pill volume buttons though.
Definitely. It needs to match the power button, and it just looks better as a pill anyway. Speaking of the power button, i wonder where they will place it.... It not apple like to go back to old styles. And the power button on the top of the phone is now old.

I like it a lot. Looks better the the iPhone 6. I would be happy if the iPhone 7 looked like that.
This probably is the iPhone 7's design, just the 4" version and not the 5SE or whatever. Basically, we will be getting 3 different display sizes of the new flagship model. I really hope the headphone jack remains...

Yep, my thoughts exactly. The design language is so different that they do not blend. That's why I do not believe this is going to be what it looks like. I do not think there is a design head at a company as major as Apple that would approve this mess.

Having said all that, I would have said the same about the design of the entire 6 series or the ios7 design language.

Why would they steer design language away from the 6 and 6S?

because it's ugly.

I was really excited when i heard about iPhone SE rose gold (5s design with improved specs):( if iPhone 7 has the same ugly design like iPhone 6, I will have no choice but move to Galaxy Edge.. And Steve Jobs agrees with me!
I thought one of the most important things about Apple products was design
I wish iPad was from another company so the iPad team design would've filed a lawsuit against iPhone team for stealing their design

Looks similar to this old mockup of iPhone 6 which I thought was much better than the current ugly bands...

If the new double camera is out and on this, I'm instantly in. Even if not, I'll probably be happy to again have an iPhone that I can use with one hand. Imagine!

What's wild is that we still don't have any solid leak on what the case looks like and we're weeks away from the event. Maybe it'll just look exactly like the 5S.

I think i will laugh when this thing ships without a headphone jack.

It depends on the alternative solution.
Removing the clutch pedal could be a stroke of genius (if you replace with auto transmission), or a stroke of idiocy (if you replace it with something clunky).

The only way I would consider buying one of these is if they put the power button back on the top.

It doesn't matter what solution apple put forward , the 4 inch fans will still complain

Give me 128gb option on this phone and it will be my next phone. My needs from a smart phone have changed drastically over the years and always needing the newest and best is not worth it for me anymore. Just give me enough space for my music on the go and I am happy.
