Since I've been in a bit of a poll mood tonight, I decided to take it a little further by doing a Mac OS poll. This poll, you can only select one. Select the OS you use the most. Enjoy!

Well, we have people in this forum who use both System 7 and Rhapsody... and I would guess that both (even if it is one vote each) would have a higher number of users than 10.0/10.1.

I would say that I split my time pretty evenly between 10.3, 10.2 (which is the only OS I've ever used while posting in this forum), Rhapsody and 8.6.

... though lately I've done less with 8.6 and more with OPENSTEP (but I can't run any of my Macs with OPENSTEP).

    10.4.7 (Intel) on my MacBook.

I am also running the hacked OS 7.6.1 that runs on iPods on my 1st Gen 5GB iPod. Fairly decent O/S, really... I'm just looking forward to keyboard support!

Actually, I am full of it. Its 230AM... time for some messing around, don't you think?

I'm still on Panther, and I think I'll stick with it until Leopard (10.5.3 or so to get rid of any bugs). It works fine for me.

Tiger came out about 6 weeks after I got my PB and I've never really had the urge to upgrade.

Tiger PPC, but soon to be Tiger Intel in about a month...

Not sure if I'm going to move to 10.5 either, so Tiger's stuck with me for a good bit.

10.4.7 on my MacBook and iMac, though obviously Intel and PPC builds respectively. It's the only version of Mac OS I've used.

I have Tiger on my iMac G5, and my iMac G3 varies. I like to play around with it and experiment by clearing the thing and reinstalling from the start. Sometimes I use 9.1, sometimes 10.0, sometimes 10.1, but usually 10.3.9.

    Mac OS 8.0 released July 26, 1997
Rhapsody 5.0 (first version) released August 31, 1997
Rhapsody 5.6 (final version) released October 27, 2000

Funny... neither of those Rhapsody dates are earlier than Mac OS 8.

In fact Apple stopped selling Rhapsody in the Summer of 2001, months after the release of Mac OS X v10.0.

Sorry to have to give you a history lesson, but your or earlier doesn't qualify here.

Interesting to see how prevalent the Intel version of Tiger is. At the moment it outweighs the PPC version 52% to 38%.

Yeah, but the ability to only select one option may distort things. I have Tiger PPC on two machines, and Tiger Intel on one, but I selected Tiger for Intel just because I use my Intel iMac slightly more than my PowerBook and Power Mac.

10.3.9 son. Works great for me. I'm sure I'm gonna be using it for the next four years.

I use Tiger, though I wish I would have stayed with Panther. Every just operated a little quicker back then.

    I agree.

If I was going to set up a poll for this it would have aloud multiple selections of the following:
    Mac OS X v10.4
    Mac OS X v10.3
    Mac OS X v10.2
    Mac OS X v10.1
    Mac OS X v10.0
    Mac OS X Public Beta
Mac OS X Developer Previews (1-4)
    Mac OS X Server 1.x (Rhapsody 5.3-5.6)
    Rhapsody Developer Releases (Rhapsody 5.0-5.1)
    Mac OS 9.x
    Mac OS 8.x
    A/UX 3.x
    System 7.x
    A/UX 1.x-2.x
    System 6.0.x
    pre-System 6.0
Where the ones I have are all in italics and the ones I regularly use are in bold-italics (meaning I would have voted for the bold-italics ones based on the original poster's question).

And actually the whole Intel/PowerPC thing for 10.4 seems a little odd. If we are going to look at that, then we may as well look at all the multi-platform operating systems too...
    Mac OS X v10.4 Intel
    Mac OS X v10.4 PowerPC
    Mac OS X v10.3
    Mac OS X v10.2
    Mac OS X v10.1
    Mac OS X v10.0
    Mac OS X Public Beta
Mac OS X Developer Previews (1-4)
    Mac OS X Server 1.x (Rhapsody 5.3-5.6)
Rhapsody Developer Releases (Rhapsody 5.0-5.1) Intel
Rhapsody Developer Releases (Rhapsody 5.0-5.1) PowerPC
    Mac OS 9.x
    Mac OS 8.x PowerPC
    Mac OS 8.x 68K
    A/UX 3.x
    System 7.x PowerPC
    System 7.x 68K
    A/UX 1.x-2.x
    System 6.0.x
    pre-System 6.0
