My first apple laptop was the G3 iBook back in 2001.

It was the first non-coloful, non clamshell ibook from apple.

My first was a 2005 12" PowerBook. I purchased the machine for college, and still have the little beast today in my classroom.

The whole best notebook ever thread got me curious... what was your first Mac Laptop?

PowerBook 145 for me... anyone else?
My first was a 2010 15" Macbook Pro with hi-res, matte screen. Six years later, I'm still using it daily. I threw 8GB of RAM in it last year, and an SSD, and it flies through Photoshop, Office, and anything else I can throw at it. Although i will probably buy a new Macbook Pro this fall, my 2010 MBP will always be in the family, getting used by someone.

2001 "TiBook" G4 was the first I used at home, though it was the family computer rather than my own.

I still have it now - the paint is chipping and the trackpad is very shiny, but I still think it's a great design. Unfortunately doesn't start up anymore even when plugged in.

Mine was a mid-2012 MacBook Pro. I have two wishes, looking back. 1, I wish I got into Mac's a whole lot sooner, as now I'm very interested in PPC Mac's even though they don't run modern software. And 2. I wish I opted for the Retina MBP instead of the last non-Retina model. It all worked out though lol been very happy with the Macs I've had since.

Mine was an early 2008 15" Mabook Pro. Cost me $3500 CDN at a time when the exchange rate was on par or close to it. With today's rates, I wouldn't even think of it.

High res matte screen, dedicated graphics, maxed out the CPU, and went with 4GB ram. Left fan died after the 1st year. AppleCare took care of it. Battery started failing about 2 weeks before AppleCare expired. Apple replaced it under warranty. Genius at the time said it was due to a combination of how good the condition the system was in at the time (not a scratch on it), as well as that it had only been brought in for the fan and nothing else. That implied to me that at least that store may have some sort of case-by-case policy they follow (or did at the time), where the genius could use their best judgement to determine the chances of them going beyond the stated written terms in the AppleCare agreement or not. But, who knows *shrug* ... all I know is that I got a brand new battery out of it, 2 weeks before the warranty ran out, which was nice.

Can't remember the drive it had. Both the RAM and hard drive were upgraded 3 years later. 6GB, and 500GB 7200RPM. Optical drive died after about 4.5 years after initial purchase, and I took it out and put an SSD in its place. Shortly after that, it was stolen.

2011 13" MacBook Pro.

It was few days after my 21st birthday, so thought I'd use the money I got and buy it and see what's up with it, since then I always had a MacBook, can't go back to anything else.

The first MacBook Air 11" base model. It was slow as hell and even stuttering while watching YouTube videos with its core2duo. Sold it after 6 months and bought a MB Pro 13"
