This has a little bit of spillover into the subject of other threads, but I think it deserves its own topic:

    ABC News link

And, of course, Bush is not going to change a damned thing, because facts be damned, he "knows" he's right.

    EDIT: Dammit, I didn't see Zim's thread.

    Wasteland, please?

I love the use of the term terrorist. It's thrown around so much lately, tying the insurgents in Iraq, the leadership in Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, all to the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Of course, they have just as much in common with the white, Christian Oklahoma City bomber. But it's easier to justify everything else we've been trying to do by making it seem like they're the same as the ones who attack the WTC.

I'm sure they could still find a way to justify it to that last ~30%, but it would be much harder to do to the rest of u.

ironic how such a religious man can completely be oblivious to basic christian tennets, you turn the other cheak for a reason as if you strike a man down he'll get back up and strike you down.

I went to a Socialist Worker Power meeting recently the the speaker mentioned some quite interesting things. Apparently Israel have the right (written in an a UN document...can't remember the damned number) to carry on 'defensive action' against Palestine, also since Palestinian liberation movements have been forced to disarm to disband, support have moved to Hamas - the more 'active' and dangerous group. Israel also gets billions in funding for an Army from the US which acts as a huge destabilizing factor in the Middle East. An interesting talk.
