Bobby Vinton, Jerry McGuire, Ethel Merman, Beach Boys all had a say in it.

As mentioned, it was a well intentioned game [for having fun] and, as a side affect [quite unintentional], it also happened to generate some new contributors to MR. No elitism, no "pecking orderism", no harm, no foul. I do think it's great to have a Forum where both technical, socio-political exchange of ideas can take place and, simple fun is not censored.

whenever a bunch of people change their tars to something similar, it's a running gag. that can't be too hard to figure out, since it's happened before, and there have been threads about it... nothing to get all freaked out about...

Yes, there have been plenty of threads about this particular one before as well. A little research would have provided an answer.

It's only a blue door...and a blue door jamb and a blue wall.

Haven't any of you seen the film "Blue Velvet"? It has nothing to do with horses. That was "National Velvet." :D

That game is not fun. I had nightmares as a kid, trying to keep them alive but I couldn't! I would wake up in a cold sweat.

There is only one Blue Velvet, and her avatar has for the most part been restored to its rightful place of distinction. Our thoughts and prayers are with you BV
